Know the building rules before service day

Confirm where work is allowed, whether a visitor technician can enter and how long the garage door remains open. Some buildings require advance notice or restrict fluid service in shared areas.

Lighting and level ground matter

A level parking stall with working overhead lighting is ideal. Clear storage items away from the motorcycle and leave room on both sides so controls, brakes and wheels can be inspected safely.

Watch for battery and moisture problems

Underground garages are often cool throughout the year. A smart charger may help when an outlet is available, but the battery should still be tested periodically. Inspect fasteners, chain surfaces and electrical connectors for moisture-related corrosion.

Mobile service can avoid difficult transport

Routine maintenance and many diagnostic jobs can be completed in an appropriate parkade location. Providing the building address, parking level and access instructions before the appointment helps determine what work is practical on site.
